La Rochelle University Research Chair “Low carbon and smart district development”

La Rochelle University is launching a new research program called LUDI « Littoral Urbain Durable et Intelligent » (sustainable and smart urban littoral). This multidisciplinary project aims at strengthen the research effort of the university on the various aspects of sustainable urban development or assessment in littoral zones.

In this aspect, the building and district energy and environmental management is one of the main issues. La Rochelle University has already a real expertise in this domain through the activity developed at LaSIE “Laboratoire des Sciences de l’Ingénieur pour l’Environnement” (https://lasie.univ-larochelle.fr) a joined laboratory with CNRS.

The professor chair opened will be installed at LaSIE and will be fully dedicated to this domain. Its main objective will be to coordinate and strengthen the development of new research activity in the specific domain of low carbon and smart district development.

In addition, the professor chair will be strongly involved in the research and teaching activities of the four schools (Environment, sustainable structure and energy, digital transformation, and culture, society, organization) of the Smart Sustainable Urban Coastal Institute of La Rochelle University.

The professor chair will be classified as full professor charge and will be associated to a specific budget allowing the definition of various PhD and/or post doc allocations.

An experience of coordination or participation in European or international projects as well as supervision of PhD students will be particularly appreciated.

Contract type : Tenure Professor

Salary : €75,000 per annum

Chair financial support : €700,000 over 4 years
